Hiking Above Piney Creek

One ear flying with the western
                                                               bluebird
              one foot standing even
                        head tracking to trace
the harrier’s path
                                    snake
in beak after she’s gone over the ridge

Green mist traces
                                    red black hills
loses the way
                        the loss a holograph
              of letters just visible
                                                                            under the wounded
hunter                 iron        blood           charcoal
                                                    in the cave at Cougnac

The body forgets nothing

           harmonies     dissonances
                                                        fill every cell

                                 traceless         clear
